Volume 10 has three stories: Seven Days in September (part 3), Party and The Laughing Cardinals (part 1).

Seven Days in September comes to an end in violence and fire. Dorian has everyone after him as he drives deeper into Egypt. Klaus catches up to him first and Dorian makes his demand ... "If you were to kneel and beg, I just might--". Sadly, Klaus isn't very understanding. Before it can be resolved, Salim shows up and Dorian and Klaus has to cooperate in order to get out of that little jam ... Klaus actually bets that Dorian as the winner: "I'm counting on you to win." Not even that is the end, as they have yet more obstacles, not to mention a bit of mutual blackmail/threat, to face ...

The cat (i.e. Klaus) is away, so the mice come out to play. It's the director's birthday and the Alphabet has decides to hold a party for him. Meanwhile, Dorian pines ... "I am depressed because I have been missing the Major since Alexandria. To look upon the sweet Major ... then give him a good jab in the back and taunt him mercilessly as I flee. The thrill! The suspense! The drama! How the days are dreary and meaningless without him." He decides to go to see him, not knowing that the man in question is away. He gets involved in the proceedings - and the party is decided to be held ... at Schloss Eberbach. Some very important shopping ends up being done by James ... Never a good sign. But as if that wasn't enough - the cat is coming home early and won't he be surprised ...?

Another grand adventure starts up. Klaus gets a new mission. An agent is killed in Switzerland. His last words is, "Tell the Major, the "Laughing Cardinals." Of course, they set out to find these merry cardinals - not an easy task. Meanwhile, Dorian also travels to Switzerland, as an old monestary filled with art treasures is about to be turned into a store.
