Volume 12 has four stories: The Laughing Cardinals (part 3), A Tale of Alaska, From Lawrence with Love and The Seventh Seal (part 1).

Laughing Cardinals, part 3. Klaus and Dorian bickers as usual, aww ... "Since you ask, might I help torture the major? I could strip him for you!"/"Usage of my rear for other than its intended purpose is strictly verboten." Poor Morning Crow has his hands full ... With a little help from Dorian and Bonham, Klaus takes control. But Dorian gets to show his skill both with a throwing knife and with a crossbow, saving Klaus's life - and he's really good!

Very annoyed with his Alphabet in the proceedings Klaus totally makes true of his constant threat: "You are all ordered to Alaska!"

A Tale of Alaska - actually, Klaus keeps Z, as he needs someone to answer telephones and run errands. In Alaska, the Alphabet reacts different - G no longer in make-up, "Without the Major around, why bother?", A going a bit Major on them, some of them lazying about, "This if the life! No Major! No stress!", but most of them are homesick. "Major! Please recall us ... and soon!" Mischa in Siberia also wants to go home. And Klaus is swamped with work, Z can't help him enough and he's not happy either.

From Lawrence With Love - Klaus is getting more and more desperate for replacement Alphabets. "If even Alaska doesn't want the, then I certainly don't." Then, a Charles Lawrence of the SIS arrives, to help Klaus. He has high thoughts of himself .. "Think of me as a knight in shining armor." Klaus is not impressed ... Klaus even have to bring Lawrence on a mission to Hamburg. Lawrence pictures Klaus as King of the Hamburg Nights - somewhat amusing, even if Klaus doesn't think so. There is only one room available at the hotel. With only one bed ... In a slash story, this would have worked. Alas ... it's Lawrence ... So it's mostly icky ... The less said about the night, the better ...

Klaus sends Lawrence on a mission to deliver the Laughing Cardinals to Lucrene. What neither of them realises is that Dorian is already there. Neither Dorian nor Lawrence is amused - but both decides to blame Klaus. Well, one amusing thing that came out of Lawrence and Klaus' night in Hamburg, when Lawrence in an argument uses it as an ace "We slept together!" Yes, Dorian gets a bit shocked too ... Soon he corners Klaus in Bonn, "What did you and Lawrence do in Hamburg?" and even "Did you sleep with him?" Aww ... He's so cute when he's jealous! Luckily, Klaus reassures him on that score. We're happy about that too ...

The Seventh Seal starts with Klaus sulking and taking a day off -shocking his butler. But No matter what dreadful truth awaits, a butler always does his duty! We can start guessing from where Klaus got at least some of his values. Of course, Klaus can't lay in bed all day, but in his boredom go terorrizing his servants, poor souls ...
