James

Member of Earl Dorian Red-Gloria gang. Brilliant accountant, according to Dorian. First seen with Dorian at the National Gallery, London, but is then drawn with slightly longer lines than he is commonly seen later in the manga. When Dorian first sees Caesar James cries. Dorian says "A tad sensitive, are we not, James? Just stick to the accounting, please." Again, when Dorian flatters Caesar, James comes running, but Dorian tells him to "James, go count some money!" (and, when James tells him that he has finished, Dorian counters with "Then go write some invoices."). To steal the fake Vermeer James considers "It'd be a waste of money and manpower to steal a worthless fake." After the theft Dorian tells James that "James, you are indeed a brilliant accountant." James replies "Anything for you, Earl.". Dorian seems to be hinting at something "When we get back to the castle ..." but when James blush and tee hees, Dorian says merely "Write up the next set of invoices." Later, when James asks Dorian if he's serious about Caesar, Dorian asks "And if I were?". James says "I'll cry". Dorian replies "Then cry." and James does cry. When Caesar finally gives in to Dorian and Dorian tells James not to kill Sugar Plum and Leopard Solid, James thinks "The nerve of Caesar crying to the Earl. The Earl always ignores me when I cry." - then he decides to kill them anyway. Once he has captured them, he says, "I can do more than push buttons on a calculator. The earl will think more of me now". Dorian isn't amused "I would say 'impressive', but you've gone against my orders.', though his punishment isn't very terrible: "James, you shall pay dearly for this. I want you to provide 600 pages of invoices by tomorrow morning." Though James does take it hard: "No! Not that!" James does not believe in war - but he does believe in money.

Earl, it's almost time.

Earl?

Earl?

Merry Christmas. Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

Earl!

But I've finished.

Anything for you, Earl.

Tee hee.

Earl! Your car awaits.

Earl, it's very unbecoming to do that to a commoner.

Earl, are you ... serious about Caesar? I'll cry.

Sob sob.

But they're making such a commotion in there!

Um ... Excuse me for disturbing you, but ...

Exactly, sir.

But, Earl ...

The nerve of Caesar crying to the Earl. The Earl always ignores me when I cry.

Well! I'm not going to listen to the Earl this time! Those two ar positively dead!

Be careful! Don't shoot any of the art!

Grab that! It's worth £100.000.

Hold on, that's worth a quid!

Stop firing at him. We're wasting perfectly good ammo chasing after him.

If you value your friend's life, you'll give up.

I can do more than push buttons on a calculator. The Earl will think more of me now.

No! Not that!

I can't believe you returned those works.
